WFSAA Members Attend IFSAP Conference
On Thursday, April 21st, WFSAA President Angie White and Secretary Meredith Stewart attended the day one of IFSAP's annual 2-day Conference. The first half of the day featured Retired FDNY Deputy Chief John Norman who gave a presentation entitled 'Ground Zero', an in-depth look at the command, control, and coordination concerns and issues regarding the World Trade Center attack on 9/11/01. As amazing as it is to have a chance to hear Chief Norman speak, the afternoon offered White and Stewart a chance to hear more about how IFSAP members are currently involved in filling the various support roles related to the fire service, as well as ways they are planning on getting more involved in the coming months including providing assistance to local Mutual Aid Box Alarm System (MABAS) Divisions.
White and Stewart took advantage of multiple opportunities to network with many members of IFSAP and begin the sharing of ideas that will help both organizations grow during 2011 and in coming years. There was even some discussion about a multi-day educational conference that would be co-hosted by both WFSAA and IFSAP. Both White and Stewart left the conference excited about everyone they had met and all the ideas they'll be able to share with the WFSAA.
Please watch for more updates as these two amazing organizations continue to work together.
