LODD Preparation - Death Notifications

Chaplain Bill Wagner

Line Of Duty Deaths are not something we want to think about or discuss in our departments. When one occurs there is a great deal of preparation that needs to quickly be done. This course is intended to take some of the stress away in the event of a LODD by preplanning. Topics to be presented include, The Importance of Procedures, Dealing with Grief, Making Death Notifications, and Family support. The Federation of Fire Chaplains manual has much information about LODD funerals. The manual is not required for the class but is recommended to have a copy for your department.
