Welcome to the Wisconsin Dells

Jorgenson_portrait.jpgDear friends – welcome back!

One of the many benefits of having our annual conference right here in the Waterpark Capital of the World® is the literally endless adventures and fun for “kids” of all ages. The Dells/Delton area is home to the largest concentration of waterparks in the world and contains the most hotels of any place in the state – boredom does not exist here! I know I speak for your family when I say they will want to join you for the 2019 conference at the beautiful Kalahari Resort in Wisconsin Dells/Lake Delton. This year’s conference is guaranteed to be another great opportunity of networking, professional growth, and plenty of fun. Without further ado, let me take you on a guided tour of some of the events in store for us this year.

On Thursday, after you finish five under at the annual foundation golf outing, we will see you at the Delton Fire Department for a welcome reception. Transportation will be provided between the Kalahari Resort and the fire station where you’ll enjoy a tasty reception, cold drinks, and a stroll around the fire/ems facility.  You’ll want to keep your eye on the sky for a surprise stop – make sure your spouse and kids are with for this.

On Friday evening, you’ll want to find the Delton and Kilbourn Fire hospitality suite at the Kalahari Resort – hint, just follow the security guards.

Did you know the history of dinner theaters (dinner and a show) dates back to the early 1950s? For our more veteran members, does your closet still contain any 1950s era apparel? On Saturday, we get to enjoy a dinner and a show for the President’s awards dinner. The Palace Theater, which is located right next to the fire station, is widely known for its spectacular theater and dining experience and they have reserved the entire venue for our private function. The ultimate feel good show of Mamma Mia promises to be a good time. So break out your pencil skirt, petticoat, and red lipstick because this is a theme party – prizes to best dressed male, female, and couple. Transportation will again be provided between the Kalahari Resort and Palace Theater.

Last year we ran short of hotel rooms but we have been promised even more for this conference. Reserve your room early and plan on spending a fun filled weekend with your friends from the Delton Fire Department, Kilbourn Fire Department (Wisconsin Dells), and the members of the Sauk County Fire Chiefs’ Association. For both the first timers and returning conference goers – welcome to the “The Waterpark Capital of the World!®”  See you all soon!
