Certified Health & Safety Officer

The Wisconsin State Fire Chiefs' Association is offering Certified Health & Safety Officer Course for FDSOA/Pro Boards National Certification at the 2012 Annual Conference and Trade Show. This 16 hour course is designed to provide the students with the required knowledge to serve as the department's health and safety officer for management of the overall health and safety program of the department. This includes not only on scene health and safety concerns, but also day-to-day risk management, building safety, OSHA compliance and program development and management. Students will then have the opportunity to obtain NFPA Pro-Board certification by successfully passing a certification exam following the course.

Who may apply: Members of the Fire Department Safety Officers Association, individual applicants sponsored by the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) or an Emergency Service Organization and individuals meeting the administrative duties and requirements of a Health and Safety Officer. Applicants shall meet the requirements of NFPA 1521 – 2008 ed. Chapter 4.

Fee: $375.00 Includes meals (breakfast & lunch on Thursday, Friday and Saturday; breakfast on Sunday; no dinners provided), textbook, exam fee, course materials and admission to the 2012 WSFCA Annual Conference and Trade Show.

  • Thursday, June 21: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
  • Friday, June 22: 1:00 PM to 5:30 PM
  • Saturday, June 23: 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM
  • Sunday, June 24: 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM (Exam)
