Milwaukee Fire Academy Tour & Training Session
Friday, June 27 – 12:30 pm to 3:00 pm
Don't miss the opportunity to attend a great training event at the Milwaukee Fire Department Training Academy. The classroom session will offer details of the Milwaukee County Shared Service Initiative. Two years ago the Fire Chiefs in Milwaukee County asked the question, "How can we better serve our citizens?" - the answer to the question is their Shared Service Initiative. Milwaukee County is working together to form a fire service community that dispatches "the closest most appropriate resource" without the impediment of City boundaries. Milwaukee County is excited to share what they are doing and hopefully inspire you to build better cooperative agreements in your communities.
The second part of the training academy experience will be a short explanation of the Milwaukee Fire Department and other county special teams. You will have an opportunity to see and tour special team apparatus and meet special team members. There will be several special team demonstrations. Milwaukee Fire Department special teams include Hazardous Materials Response (HAZMAT), the Heavy Urban Rescue Team (H.U.R.T.), the Marine unit (Dive Response & Fire Boat Response) and the Incident Command Post (I.C.P.). Get out of the hotel conference rooms for the afternoon and spend some time with the Milwaukee Fire Department!
A shuttle bus will be available to and from the Wisconsin Center. Details will be provided in your confirmation email closer to the conference. Space is limited to the first 44 attendees. No charge to attend.
