Join the Wisconsin State Fire Chiefs Association (WSFCA), Professional Ambulance Association of WI (PAAW), the Professional Fire Fighters of WI (PFFW) and the WI EMS Association (WEMSA) for EMS Day on November 1st. Let’s show up in a sea of uniforms, visit our legislators, and explain what we do and what we need.
Registration is now open for NFA Wisconsin State Weekend, to be held October 20-22, 2017 at Volk Field.
At this year’s WSFCA Annual Conference Business meeting in Green Bay, those recommended Bylaw changes were voted on and passed. The paragraphs that follow provide a summary of those changes along with the transition plan recommendations that were made to WSFCA Executive Board at June 25th Board meeting.
Another successful WSFCA Conference was held in Green Bay, June 22-25, 2017. Several awards and announcements were made.
07/03/17 | 2017 Legislator of the Year Awards
At the WSFCA annual meeting held at the KI Center in Green Bay, two Legislator of the Year awards were bestowed. Representative Amy Loudenbeck representing Wisconsin’s 31st Assembly District and Representative Katrina Shankland representing Wisconsin’s 71st Assembly District received the Legislator of the Year awards.

The Wisconsin State Fire Chiefs' Association (WSFCA) is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2017 Wisconsin Fire Chief of the Year Awards: Career Chief of the Year – Kevin Bierce from Pewaukee Fire Department and Volunteer Chief of the Year – Bruce DePeau from Casco Fire Department.
06/24/17 | 2017 Safety Leadership Award Winner
Congratulations to the 2017 WSFCA Safety Leadership Award winner! The South Milwaukee Fire Department was recognized for their cancer prevention efforts.
05/25/17 | Proposed Bylaws Amendments
At the 2016 Wisconsin State Fire Chiefs’ Association (WSFCA) Annual Business Meeting there was a motion to create an Ad Hoc Committee to explore term limits and the Board structure of the WSFCA. This Ad Hoc Committee has prepared two proposals for amendments to the WSFCA Bylaws.
04/17/17 | Call for Resolutions & Nominations
The WSFCA is seeking resolutions to present at the 2017 Annual Meeting along with nominations for the 2nd Vice President, Sergeant At Arms and Trustee positions.
11/28/16 | Safety Leadership Award
The Safety Section announced the creation of a new award for safety leadership. This award was designed to encourage safe practices and a progressive safety mindset in the Wisconsin fire service, and to create a platform to share best practices. The goal of this award is to be able to recognize significant improvements in safety at the local fire department level, for departments of all structures and sizes.
11/21/16 | Fire Chief of the Year Award
The Wisconsin State Fire Chiefs’ Association (WSFCA) has established a Chief of the Year Award. The award is based on the criteria used by the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC). Nominations are due April 1, 2017.
Several awards and announcements were made at the 2016 WSFCA Conference held in Green Bay, June 23-26, 2016.

06/30/16 | WSFCA Launches the WSFCA Foundation
The Wisconsin State Fire Chiefs' Association launched its WSFCA Foundation with a $50,000 donation from the Blooming Grove Fire Department.

Congratulations to the 2016 WSFCA Safety Leadership Award winner! Fond du Lac County Fire Chiefs / MABAS Division 120 was recognized for their continued efforts of changing the culture and attitude in 20 departments across Fond du Lac County.
The Wisconsin State Fire Chiefs’ Association (WSFCA) exists to provide statewide leadership and advocacy regarding issues of public safety. One such issue that has repeatedly been brought to this organization’s attention is that of the increased rail transport of crude oil and the realized disastrous results when derailments occur.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS), in coordination with the Departments of Defense, Health and Human Services, Justice, and Transportation, has released "First Responder Guidance for Improving Survivability in Improvised Explosive Device and/or Active Shooter Incidents”
